Humankind’s relationship with nature has been a constant theme in my work. Working almost entirely from direct observation, I am interested in conveying a sense of life and movement in my paintings, while being faithful to nature. Much of this was influenced by the culture of Western Samoa where I spent a year at the age of 16.
