STATEMENT:
Humankind’s relationship with nature has been a constant theme in my work. Working almost entirely from direct observation, I am interested in conveying a sense of life and movement in my paintings, while being faithful to nature. Much of this was influenced by the culture of Western Samoa where I spent a year at the age of 16.

BIO:
Born in Oakland, California in 1980, James has been making art his entire life. He got his B.F.A. in painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design and studied at the Art Students League of NY. While in New York he also worked as assistant to numerous artists, then moved to the Triangle in 2014.
AFFILIATIONS:
James work has been shown in over sixty exhibitions, including shows at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art in Japan, the Silk Gallery in Seoul, South Korea, and galleries across the United States, France and Italy. Find out more about James, his awards and work at his website.
