Hollie is a mixed media artist who enjoys working in a variety of media. She was trained as a printmaker so her love of surface has taken her to ceramics, mixed media painting, digital collage printed on metal, and recently in Protest Pearls Jewelry. The jewelry showcases archival images of trailblazers in the suffrage and abolition movements and more modern day women of accomplishment. On the updated freshwater pearl necklace or a simple chain hangs a medallion of a trailblazer to remind women of their collective power and accomplishment.
Hollie is a NC native who has lived in Chapel Hill since 1963. She received her BFA from UNC-CH in painting and printmaking. She studied at UGA-Athens and earned her MFA in printmaking, taught at Converse College and returned to Chapel Hill, where she is active in the local artist scene.
Hollie Exhibits her work around the triangle, is a juried member of Orange County Artists Guild, and was a founding member of Center/Gallery.
