Hollie’s background in painting and printmaking and her exploration of ceramics makes her appreciate the surprising mixing of mediums to match her visual idea. She combines prints of archival letters and photos, embossed clay icons, stamped, incised ceramic forms with ceramic glazes and liquid acrylic inks. She appreciates meaningful cultural symbols and puts them in combines to achieve a sense of oneness. Her surfaces vary from ceramic to paper to traditional painting surfaces.
